Rules

1.    If a goalie saves a shot, the referee whistles the play dead.   The goalie will then pass to his own player to start the play.  The opposing team must retreat to the Ringette line or  top of the circle before attacking.

2.    After every goal scored, the team which has just scored, must retreat to the red line; eg. Delayed offside. Once all players have returned over the red line, they can  attack the team they just scored on.       If the team that just scored does NOT have all skaters clear the red line; eg. Delayed offside. A penalty shot will be awarded to the team who was just scored on.

3.    Blue line off sides will be called. When off sides occur, the team who went off side must retreat to the redline and wait until puck is played past the blue line by the opposing team

4.    Icing will be called from the far blue line. When this occurs, the team who is called for icing must wait at the redline until the puck is played past the blue line

5.    If a puck is deflected out of the arena, there will be a normal face-off in the place nearest to the where it went out. If the puck was intentionally shot out, a delay of game penalty will be called

6     All penalties will result in a penalty shot (CHA Rule Book)

7.   There will be no appeals as all referee calls will be final

8.    During a penalty shot the following format will be used:

All players on the ice will be asked to line up on the redline and be down on one knee

The player who the penalty was infringed by would perform the penalty shot, (in the case of an injury a a player on the ice at the time of the infraction must take the shot)

The team taking the penalty shot can only fore-check the opposing team once the shooter has returned to the redline; eg. Delayed offside,

If the goalie stops the penalty shot or the shooter shoots wide, the play is whistled dead and defending team gains possession of the puck.

9.   There will be NO BODY CHECKING IN ANY DIVISION. Any contact other than incidental will result in a penalty and penalty shot will be awarded.

10.  ANY HITTING FROM BEHIND will not be tolerated and any player who does will be ejected out of that game

11.  There will be NO TIMEOUTS allowed.

12.   Points will be earned as follows: 4 points = for a win by 3 goals or more,   3 points = Win by 2  goals or less, 2 points = Tie, 1 point = Loss

13.   Quarter / Semi-finals team point ties are to be broken by the following format in this order:

 1)  Winner between the tied teams advances (providing all tied teams have played each other)

 2)  Team with the lowest total goals against advances

 3)  Team with the highest total goals for advances

 4)  Coin Toss  (Caller who matches side up advances)

*** Once a team is deemed the advancer, the remaining teams (in multiple team ties) will proceed back to rule 1).

Semi-final and final game ties will be broken by a Shoot-out (Not Sudden Death) consisting of 3 players per team. If still tied, then repeat as necessary. Players may shoot again only after all active players on roster have had a shot first.

14. Protests will not be accepted and ALL DECISIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE ARE FINAL
